Bridgeport resident Sheaquana Mowatt, 31, surrendered herself into police custody in Scarsdale on Wednesday, Dec. 19, where she was charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.
According to police, Mowatt allegedly was a home health aide working for a family on Brite Avenue in Scarsdale, when she stole an $1,800 check from her employer and deposited it into her own bank account. Mowatt has since been released and is scheduled to appear in Scarsdale Village Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
